Writer + Musician

About

Hi, I’m Chelsea. Nice to meet ya.

Writer + musician.

I’m a triple Gemini. No, seriously.

I was born on the East Coast and grew up on the West Coast.  When I was a kid, my mom worked as a freelance writer and mercilessly edited my school papers. “No fluff,” she’d say. This helped me become a concise, engaging writer.

I began singing when I was young, too, and this love grew as I did. I studied music in college and have spent the better part of my life onstage. About seven years ago, I melded my two passions and began songwriting, leading me to form my band, Late Slip. Around this same time, I also began writing and editing professionally.

I’ve worked as a copywriter and editor for Whole Foods Market, written about nutrition and well-being practices for Ergobaby, managed social media for a plant-forward restaurant, created newsletter campaigns for an urban farm, and built a website for a registered dietitian. I'm so into writing about food and nutrition that I went back to school in 2020 to earn a second bachelor's in nutritional sciences.

I’m currently working with Common Threads, a national nonprofit that offers children and families nutrition education and cooking classes. I live in New York City with my husband, Matt, and perfect angel dogs, Benicio & Diego.
